The new mosque in Gabala was built by order of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The construction of the mosque started in May 2010 and completed in early 2013. On February 28, 2013 President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the mosque.
The building area of the building is 715 square meters, and the height of the tower is 25 meters. The mosque can accommodate a total of 600 believers, including 450 men and 150 women at the same time. The walls and pillars of the mosque are written from the Holy Quran and decorated with religious symbols.
The mosque has its own chairs, lectures, libraries, ceremonies, toilets and auxiliary facilities for women and men. Decorative trees and grass were planted, modern lighting systems were installed and two fountains were built.
